Starspur members were recently invited to a focused session with our technology expert and fellow member, Vimal, to deepen our understanding of the Google platform and its potential to strengthen our organisation. The session marked an important milestone in Starspur’s digital journey, as we reflect on how technology can responsibly support our mission of service.

With Google’s initiative to support non-profit organisations, we were grateful and thrilled to be selected. This opportunity opens doors for Starspur to move toward a largely paperless environment, significantly enhancing our operational efficiency. Embracing digitalisation aligns closely with Singapore’s national direction toward becoming a Smart Nation, and we are committed to progressing in a way that is structured, secure, and sustainable.

While artificial intelligence continues to shape the global conversation, our current focus is practical and foundational.

Rather than pursuing advanced AI tools, we are prioritising secure digital systems that allow documents to be stored safely in the cloud. Properly structured access controls and data management practices ensure that information remains protected, accessible, and preserved for the long term. This transition supports better governance, accountability, and continuity for the organisation.

The session also explored various touchpoints for strengthening Starspur’s brand presence. We discussed how digital platforms can help us raise awareness, connect with like-minded individuals, and share our initiatives with clarity and integrity. Visibility, when handled responsibly, allows our work to inspire others who believe that even one step toward helping can spark meaningful change.
