Water for Life – A Commitment to Clean Water in Puttaparthi

Water is life – not as a slogan, but as a truth. It sustains health, protects dignity, and gives communities the chance to grow. When clean water is disrupted, everything else begins to strain.

In Puttaparthi, more than 60,000 people depend on a functioning sewage treatment system to ensure safe water. Today, that system is damaged. What stands before the town is not merely an infrastructure issue, but a human one.

For Aarav Khanna, this is personal.

Puttaparthi is a town he has been visiting since he was a child. Its streets, its people, its quiet rhythm — they are familiar to him.

The community is not distant or abstract. The people of this town matter. And so does their access to clean water.

When he learned about the spoilt Sewage Treatment Plant, concern turned into responsibility. As a Starspur volunteer, Aarav has taken this project upon himself with a clear conviction: clean water is the most valuable resource we share. Without it, no progress can truly last. With it, life flows forward.

What began in October as a thought has now become focused work. Research is underway. A detailed paper is being developed to outline the technical and social case for replacing the damaged plant. Submissions are being prepared for organisations that can champion the cause and help bring the solution to reality. Every step is carefully documented, because real change requires clarity and evidence.

A meeting was requested with a CEO SSSRIF who could offer perspective and encouragement in his personal capacity. He graciously accepted. The meeting offered a reflected faith in the intention behind the work and belief that consistent action could lead to clean water for thousands.

Sometimes encouragement is what strengthens resolve.

This initiative remains a work in progress — steady, deliberate, and driven by commitment. The goal is simple and unwavering: restore the sewage treatment system and ensure clean water access for over 60,000 people in Puttaparthi.

Water must flow. And when people care deeply enough, action flows with it.
